Gone Poem by Elizabeth Dawn

Gone

Everthing I once knew, every touch,
every smell, every breath... Is gone...
My heart feels like its stopped beating,
like I can't take another breath...

I open my eyes expecting you to be there
looking back at me, with that warm gentle smile
that I grew so accustom to seeing...
But its gone...

You once promised me something that I should have
never believed, You promised you wouldn't leave,
but now look whats happened I'm here
speaking to nothing but the wind...

Smelling nothing but the salt in the ocean waves,
Feeling nothing but the brisk wind blowing my hair in every direction...
The tears that fell from my eyes fall no more,
The heart that once loved so much feels not, but the emptiness you left behind...

I once believed that I would always be loved that I would always be warm and safe in anothers arms, but now that belief has drifted Into the dark oceans that lay before my broken body. With not even the hope of your return...
