Good-Bye Joan, We'Ll Miss You Poem by Marilyn Lott

Good-Bye Joan, We'Ll Miss You

Rating: 5.0

A Child when she got married
Oh, so long ago
A little girl then she carried
She watched her family grow.

For family meant the world to her
As the years went rolling by
So many events to smile about
But there were those that made her cry.

It didn't take much to make her happy
Such as cooking delicious meals
Calling "supper's ready, " at the table
The perfect way wife and mother feels.

She was such a wonderful cook, oh yes
Why I can taste her roast beef now
Mashed potatoes and brown gravy
Such scrumptious old-fashioned chow.

Her flowers she tended lovingly
I have her Hens and Chicks that she shared
Tucked into my garden spaces
It was obvious she really cared.

Her scrapbooks were simply amazing
We sat up ‘til late one night
When she shared those fun-filled pages
Oh, what a treasured sight!

She knew before her mind completely fled
Something was just not right
We stayed a few days to spend time with her
As the light bulb was not so bright.

One thing we all know for sure, Joan
Your love of God has always been true
And now you are home with Him
Good-Bye Joan, we'll all miss you.

I feel your loss, in the words you wrote. Now about that roast beef and taters with gravy! Well done and I will look for an extra star in the sky tonite!
