Good Enough Poem by Maddie 'Rae' Berry

Good Enough

Rating: 5.0

There is not much I can offer, there is nothing I can give.
How can I? When I’m invisible to your eyes.
I just want to shield you from the lies.
The hurt and pain that you have felt.
He’s been there, but has he cared?
If you let me try I could be good for you.

I would be there because you would be my life.
I would protect you; I would make you feel good enough.
When times are rough, I’ll be tough...for you.
I could be your something, if only you would accept me.
You know that you would reject me.
Yet you will never push him away.
He’d be the one to stay.
Because you’ll never swing my way, instead you would rather watch him stray.
