Good Men Poem by Randy McClave

Good Men

A lot of good men
Who never lied or cheated or wanted to sin,
Have lost many good years
Followed by hurt and pain and many tears.
Men who went to church and did always pray
And who worked hard at their job everyday,
Who always payed their bills on time
And who never broke the law or committed a crime.
They never smoked or took pills or drank
And they always donated blood at the blood bank,
They sought and wanted to share a good or better life
When joined with a girlfriend or wife.
A man who always wore a smile
Whether walking a few steps or even a mile,
And who never saw or felt any danger
Whenever he met anyone, even a stranger.
He never hated or ever held a grudge
Now others want to accuse and to also judge,
All now because of his new situation
In which he is part of the creation.
Now he is full of sadness and negative energy
Which all of his true friends and family knows and does see,
And now he is manipulated and controlled
Of his own mind and soul he's lost hold.
Whenever a woman wounds a good man
He will never be the same as he began,
The pain changes him into a person who no longer trusts
All that is was and cared about now rusts.
Now he is lost
His happiness and joy and peace was the cost,
These men lost everything that they did wanted and imagined
By staying loyal to a toxic woman.
