Good On You Eily Buckley Poem by Francis Duggan

Good On You Eily Buckley

Good on you Eily Buckley back there near Millstreet Town
You keep on promoting Millstreet without one thought of your own renown
You keep on promoting Millstreet in prose as well as rhyme
In the annals of Duhallow you will live on in time.

Thanks for the poem you penned to me such a nice thing of you to do
For such a beautiful gift of words i feel grateful to you
With your words you are generous and your very best you try
For to make others happy that's why your friends multiply.

I'm one of those who left the job of the seven day milking cow
But life goes on without me back there where the Finnow
On towards the great Blackwater slowly winds on it's way
Through old fields green and beautiful it babbles night and day.

Good on you Eily Buckley you keep the home flag flying
Through the medium of the internet your fans keep multiplying
As a very valued member of the Millstreet Web Site team
In Duhallow and far beyond you are held in high esteem.

And thank you for the kind words they helped for to make my day
A gift that i do cherish from one who lives far away
In Millstreet in Duhallow where i lived years ago
Where the waters of the Finnow to the great Blackwater flow.
