Goodbye Poem by Francis Duggan

Goodbye

Goodbye to Mick and Jerry good bye to Joe and Jane
Our time has come for parting we may never meet again
We laughed and we made merry but all good times must end
And thank you for your friendship you were my trusted friends.

The time has come for parting we never more may meet
You made me feel quite welcome as a stranger on your street
No longer at the Local we'll drink and sing along
To Jane on the piano to some familiar song.

I was a little lonely I did feel out of place
But to your street you made me feel mine was a welcome face
And I always will remember how you were good to me
And I thank you for your kindness and your generosity.

Goodbye to Mick and Jerry, goodbye to Jane and Joe
The time has come for parting but you were nice to know
Where-ever my journeys take me to your friendship I will recall
But sooner or later parting must come to one and all.
