Goodbye To Hospital Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Goodbye To Hospital

Farewell, oh hospital dear
Where sorrow and pain doth appear
With every step, a heavy heart
As we bid our goodbyes, we must depart
Through these halls, we've walked in fear
Hands trembling, eyes shedding tears
But in your walls, we've found solace
In your embrace, we've found grace
Oh how we've prayed for healing
In this place of endless feeling
Where hope and despair collide
But now it's time to say goodbye
The scent of disinfectant lingers
As we pass the nurse's station, fingers
Clutching onto memories we hold
Of the battles fought, and the stories told
In these rooms, lives have begun
And in some, they've come undone
But through it all, your light shone bright
Guiding us through the darkest night
Oh hospital, you've been our refuge
In times of sickness, you were our muse
But now we must move on from here
Leaving behind all our fears
The IV drips and beeping machines
No longer a part of our routine
Our stay has come to an end
And to you, we say farewell, old friend
Though we may never return
In our hearts, your memories will burn
For you have been our companion
Through the valley of death's canyon
So goodbye, oh hospital dear
We'll never forget the time spent here
For in your halls, a part of us will stay
As we bid our final farewell today.
