Goodbye Yesterday Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Goodbye Yesterday

Goodbye Yesterday, my old friend,
Our time together had ended.
Memories we shared, now just a blur,
As I bid you farewell, my heart aches for sure.
Your passing brings a heavy weight,
As I mourn the moments, now too late.
The laughter and tears, now just a dream,
For you, my dear Yesterday, I'll forever grieve.
In your arms, I found solace and peace,
But now, all that's left, is a sense of unease.
Now I wish to turn back time,
And hold on to my dream, with every single rhyme.
But alas, the clock keeps ticking on
An old grandpa who mortalize himself,
And the hands of time, can't ever be undone.
So I must bid you farewell, with a heavy heart,
And pray that our paths may one day restart.
Farewell, Yesterday, my dear,
I'll cherish our memories, forever near.
Though you may be gone, you'll never be forgotten,
For in my heart, you'll always be begotten.
So let us mourn, in this somber dirge of syllablic verse
For the goodbye to Yesterday, leaves an eternal urge.
But as I lay you to rest, with a tear in my eye,
I'll hold on to the hope, of a new tomorrow, in the sky.
