Gopinath Temple, Ningthoukhong, Manipur Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Gopinath Temple, Ningthoukhong, Manipur

The white edifice
Built by the Maharaja of Manipur
Housing Gopinath with his consort,
The Lord of the Gopis,
The Playmate Krishna.

I see the white temple
Looking magnificent,
The images
Carved as per the folk version
Dedicated to Gopinath.

Who is none,
But a form of Krishna
As the Lord of Gopis,
The Playmate Krishna,
Housed with architectural excellence.

A Vaishnava temple
It has an exotic stock to tell of
Local culture, trend and tradition,
The Raslila and the folks
Celebrating it.
