There are times
when gospel
is just a sound
heard in thud
of each stone’s fall.
And on the ground
they form a mound
unspoken verdict,
acquittal call.
‘Tis then the word
is spoken that
heals the deepest sore
‘I do not condemn you
go now and sin no more’.
