Grandchildren ~ Unuci Poem by Jankovic Zoran

Young children are
the mirror of their parents.
In the reflection of that mirror
one can see how they are
preparing them to grow up.

When they become aware of themselves
children will wear forever
that lump of gold or lead.
For someone, that burden will be heavy,
but it will bring happiness to someone.

That's why grandparents should
enjoying their little grandchildren
because they grow up faster
than children that they are parents.

Unuci

Mala djeca su ogledalo
svojih roditelja.
U odrazu tog ogledala
se vidi način na koji
ih oni spremaju da odrastu.

Kad postanu svjesna sebe
djeca će zauvijek nositi
taj grumen zlata ili olova.
Nekome će taj teret biti težak,
nekome će donijeti sreću.

Zato bake i dede treba da
uživaju u malim unucima
jer oni brže rastu od djece
kojima su oni roditelji.
