Granddaughter Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Granddaughter

Rating: 5.0

I want to hold an umbrella over you head
I want to protect you from the stress and hurt ahead
But then I would take away the lessons that life conveys
It is your time to find a way through the bewildering haze

You search for someone who will make your life complete
You look into the eyes of a young man you randomly meet
Will your lives connect with love and compassion to share?
Does he have understanding? Will he always care?

The questions that I ask do not have conclusive answers
The rhythm of life will create a song for its dancers
Your exploration will have many auditions along the way
Each encounter is a step on a path to that magical day

In conclusion, I must trust and realize you are growing
We all have choices to make, sometimes without knowing
I pray that your journey will be protected by God above
Grandmother wishes you the best in your search for love
