Grandma's Asleep Poem by Lovely Sheene Gusi

Grandma's Asleep

Wake up Granny! Wake up
It's time. Breakfast in bed
Later, you can have your nap
For now, you being awake is what I need

Open your eyes now Granny! Open it
I'm going to show you something
A masterpiece. But it's not done yet
Open your eyes. Excitement's brimming

You had enough rest sleepyhead
Here's your newspaper Granny
Need reading glass to read?
You missed things happened lately

Wake up Granny and stand
Dread is covering me
Pallid skin. Cold as ice hand
Happenings are not funny

You're just sleeping. Wake up
Lifeless? No. You're just sleeping too deep
This isn't true. Tears dropped on my lap
No! It can't be. My Grandma's just asleep

Sad tale of an irreplaceable loss told with clarity of thought and mind. A beautiful creation nicely brought forth in good rhyme scheme with insight. Very heartfelt. Thanks for sharing Lovely and do remain enriched.
