At times I get angry with my grandpa,
Like when he tells me to stop being lazy,
Mostly I am happy with him, listening to the stories of the glory days,
The comic book heroes of his day,
How he says the right things to grandma when she is upset,
And laugh at how he is angered by the smallest things,
He does not agree with our laughter,
I have no clue what I would do without grandpa here with me.

I would like to translate this poem
the comic book heroes of his day. I love that line. and the tone of the poem is simple, direct, real. I hope your grandfather lives a very long, healthy time and you get to hear all his stories and I wish after reading this poem my own grandfather was still here. Thank you for this poem creating a real, living picture/feeling. Mary Angela Douglas
