Grandpa’s Farm Poem by Marilyn Lott

Grandpa’s Farm

Rating: 5.0

It is a place etched in my memory
And has been my entire life
Grandpa’s farm was like my home too
Along with grandma, grandpa’s wife

I remember walks down to the creek
With grandpa on a sunny day
Listening to the many things
That grandpa used to say

“What was it like when you were a boy? ”
I would often say to him
And then I’d listen to every story
For each one was a delightful gem

Grandpa used that old rusty lock
For he kept his home secure
The boards grew old, paint chipped off
But for so many years they endured

The home is gone now but, you know?
It always had so much charm
Yes, etched in my mind forever
Are memories of Grandpa’s farm!
