Grass Poem by Raymond Farrell

Grass

To be as resilient
and adaptable as grass
to be spat on, tread on
unappreciated, defecated on
poisoned, burned
upturned and shaken up
uprooted and transplanted
scorched in summer
frozen in winter
and then
when the first warm rain of spring
seeps into the thawed ground
and is warmed by the sun
to burst forth
lush, green and full of life
this is a miracle
I never grow tired
of seeing.

This is life of grass..always fighting and surviving. Nice poem. Loved it.
