Gratitude To Summer Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Gratitude To Summer

We welcome you dear summertime
You are a joy to know.
Your coloured flowers adorn the green
And streams of apple cider flow.

Strawberries, cherries, damsons ripe
Are gathered in by everyone,
Summertime, the children's friend
We thank you for your glorious sun.

Lazy hours spent by the ocean
That ripples gently far and wide,
To where your glow lays down its head
Add twilight magic to eventide.

Blackbird and thrush on many a tree
Sing with sweet gratitude to thee.
