Graveyards Have Tales To Tell Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Graveyards Have Tales To Tell

Graveyards have tales to tell
Graveyards sit silent when they sense
Humans that breathe.
They sense as birds sense
In Silence they have no tales
But ah! Night be their Friend
Their ally of the Silent Dark
Accomplice too: as the white moon.
And in the distance silent stars aid too.
Then Time being favorable too
Begin the Whispers in the humming
Ground vibrating as with tremors low.
Each grave to others speaks
The other hear; wait their turn
To come and have their say.
And
Though Time marches on as yet
They tend to continue till the cusp of Dawn
And common line with the First Lights
And edge with the first bustling hour
As town and country wake
As breathing figures stir, make sound
Then of a sudden cease they
And go to sleep in rising rays of sun
For graveyards have tales to tell
But at their full convenience
They choose, they plan.
For graveyards have tales to tell.
