Country matters less
Politicians create mess
Public go berserk
Dogs openly roam and bark
Who cares for soldier's death?
How many times we want to lay wreath?
If attackers are our brethren
It adds to worry and concern
If they are bandits
Let them befit reply
Meet force with force
Root out the evil source
Young people are not meant for hunt
They can't and should not bear burnt
We have to use them for services of motherland
With love for country and act as people's friend
Let us not merely pay for their deaths
They are our hope and faith
See that their families are not left with begging bowls
If so, it shall be nation's sham and great fall
The true caretakers- sacrificed by careless ones! RAJESHWARI SRINIVASAN, MUMBAI Dec 05,2014
A hard hitting poem, apparently inspired by the killing of 14 CRPF soldiers including a Dy. Commandant, in a Maoist attack in Sukma, Chattisgath recently. Thanks for sharing, Mehtaji. Padmaja Iyengar, Secunderabad, A P, India Dec 04,2014
