Greed Poem by Kelly Batson

Greed

Rating: 4.0

His greed for satisfaction
A victim of circumstance
Enslaved in unholy intentions
Self-seeking envy, lust and pride
Now penalized with unwholesome desires
Selflessness
A growing hunger to experience every exotic wish
Overpowering the magnificence of love
Truth
I’m skeptic because of him
Our compassion becomes self-serving
Tormented by mistrust, suspicion and rage
Our downfall as human is deserving
Innocence is just arrogance
Unsatisfied and displeased
Unfulfilled by materialism
Obtaining righteousness
