Greed Poem by Ernesto Torres

Greed

Greed is jealousy's father
its great enough to bother
every soul
from who they stole

More that money and things,
but the very strings
that held families together
and are separate forever

It is what what is wrong with this world
that a person can be sold
for things that have no soul
it makes me want to bawl

But that is the world we live in
unless we change this sin
with a message
that can salvage

us all

(line 11 refers to monetary objects)
