Green Corrosion Poem by Soumita Sarkar

Green Corrosion

The earth is dominated
overpowered
crushed at times
The best creation
hinders the growth
of others
sharing
this green planet
Name a thing
holy untouched by
greed and power

We are human
We are the guardian
We are the preserver

Why deny this charge?
Accept the responsibility?
Corrosion is incorrigible
The cradle of life
Has become the death bed
The mere air smells
Of toxins and wastes
Green cover turns brown

Still the passport
To future is in hand
A partnership with nature
Is written on the band
