Green Grass Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Green Grass

Green grass

Nothing shall work
With only words
Land is different
Enemy is present

People may suffer
With no peace offer
Dry grass may burn
Along with green grass in turn

The enemy is present on ground
No friend can be found
Everywhere shells are fired
People are murdered

Children, aged and women
All are living in so called heaven
People are kept under captivity
Under belief with some visible possibility

Now people are surrounded
Complete area is bombarded
From within and from outside
Enemy is killing us from inside

Somewhere in this enigmatic poem there is a deep sadness and perhaps some despair. Read mine - Legacy - Adeline
