Greener On The Other Side Poem by Leslie Alexis

Greener On The Other Side

The grass is not greener on the other side
For where I stand green is all there is.
With my love, I shall abide;
Love can’t be bettered – I can’t conceive…

When she wakes, I wake with her
And in deep sleep I am her dream.
I know this because my dreams concur.
In sleep, we dance upon sunbeams.

As the day goes round and round
From contentment our hearts sing,
Because we found the joy of love
As it poured from Heaven’s spring.

When we lay our heads to sleep
Love’s blanket keeps us warm.
Assured in the one our hearts keep
We drift off to sounds of psalms

That through earnest love are sung
With harps and trumpets made of deeds,
Which do wonders to confirm
We fulfill only the other’s needs

As is the lover's worth;
We depend on trust’s mirth.
