Grey Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Grey

Grey

We turned the grass grey
And the sky too.
It wasn't even blue.
My eyes saw everything grey.

The ocean turned grey
Because of the soot
That surrounded this planet
From car exhausts to boot.

This Earth had become
A repository of pollution
Of man made glories and illusions
Of conquering nature.

And nature took a stance
Against mankind aghast
That nature could backlash
So harshly.
