Grey Poem by Marilyn Shepperson

Grey

No-one seems to like the colour grey
Yet grey is the shade of many good things
Grey are the misty mountains seen from afar
It is the shadowy softness of mystery
Rain clouds are all shades of grey
As they empty their load upon the dry earth
And grey is the smoke from the cosy fire
That warms you on a winter's evening
Yet the most lovely grey of all
Is the gentle grey of a doves' wings.
