Grip Of Pain Poem by Don Subba

Grip Of Pain

In the grip of pain I stand,
Lost in all the lies.
Always thinking of the end,
With no peace inside.

I'm the child of silent shame,
Crying all alone.
What can heal a broken heart,
Turned to cold as stone?

My pen bleeds every word I write,
But still can't tell the pain.
A heart that's running out of love
Falls down again.

I hear the walls close in,
I feel the cold inside.
No prayer left upon my lips,
Nowhere left to hide.

In the grip of pain,
I hide.
In the grip of pain,
I hide.

My future feels
Like a curse.
Heavy in my chest,
Ready to burst.
In the grip of pain.

My future feels like a curse,
With secrets I can't tell.
Heavy on my heart,
Like a living hell.

I wore my tears like armor,
My fear beneath my skin.
Every door was closed to me,
Every road led back within.

My pen bleeds every word I write,
But still can't tell the pain.
A heart that's running out of love
Falls down again.

I hear the walls close in,
I feel the cold inside.
No prayer left upon my lips,
Nowhere left to hide.

If I break, let me break free.
If I bleed, let it mean
There was still a spark alive
Deep inside of me.

The shadows in my eyes
Fade into the light.
I won't stay buried here.
I'll rise and fight.

In the grip of pain,
I hide.
In the grip of pain,
I hide.

My future felt
Like a curse.
But I found the strength
To face the worst.

In the grip of pain,
I rise.
In the grip of pain,
I rise.
