Grocery Girl Poem by Barry Middleton

Grocery Girl

The girl at the grocery store,
asks me most every day.
Find everything you need?
She knows what I will say.

I never found true love!
She smiles and fakes a laugh.
I ask what aisle it's on.
She calls upon the staff.

Please meet the man up front.
What aisle is true love on?
He wants it fresh and sweet.
Is all the true love gone?

Grocery girl faking laugh in this situation is the perception of a very romantic mind. She calling the staff and introducing the poet is very very subtle and human.
