Grounding Poem by Ellen Shaw

Grounding

Say your truth to me
Shout it louder than my lies
Drown out the voices
tripping over themselves
Say each sentence clearly
One
Word
At
A
Time
Untangle all the knots
Tie up all loose ends
Turn me right side round
Stand me on my own two feet
Walk ahead and I will follow
One
Step
At
A
Time
Help me find me
wherever it is I go
when Hours pass me by
Who am I? How do I disappear?
Lay a paper trail
One
Clue
At
A
Time
Mould me into a person
Breathe life into me
Give me a name
Make me real
Decorate me with colour
One
Brushstroke
At
A
Time
Feel my skin
when it is made of paper
My hair, when it turns to wire
Touch me when I feel nothing
Bring me back
One
Truth
At
A
Time
