Guard Poem by Wangui Mukiri

Guard

Rating: 5.0

I jelously guard,
What is mine,
Although I know,
What's mine isn't always.

As it fades,
A fading that's as misty as it can get,
And as I sit helplessly,
Watching it go,
Fading through the mist,
That's life.

As my heart aches,
An aching that just won't go away,
An aching that shoots up,
Stirring my thoughts,
My tears.

As my heart goes up in smoke,
UP, up up and up more,
Moving me to more tears and many more,
Burning my cheeks and lips,
Leaving a mark where they have touched.

I am helpless,
Because I know I still,
I'll always,
Jelously guard,
What I've already lost...........you.
