This poem was inspired by the documentary, 'Killers Paradise', coproduced by the BBC and the Nat'l Film Board of Canada. Oscar Berger, President of Guatemala was interviewed and said that he was 'Optimistic' despite an 18% rise in homicides - Two more women were found dead on the day of the interview and in the time it took them to film the documentary,60 women were killed.
