Gypsy Hearts Poem by Carol Fleming Klein

Gypsy Hearts

Leaves dancing in the street
outside your window
tapping out a rhythm to my thought

Music of castanets
how I wish I could join them
dancing on the ground
and play for you
wild music
haunting melodies
of the breeze

But I am confined
to smiling
as you pass, eyes straight ahead
unseeing
