Half-Alive Poem by Mashe Others

Half-Alive

Half-alive, we go about today,
flying with our broken wings
over an endless sea of despair,
no one ever said that love is fair.

And yet the fool we are;
unmindful, restless, proud,
we weren’t afraid to drown..
..but now our faith has gone.

And I sit alone as when you found me;
ignorant of a radiant sky,
of existence soaring just above me.
‘til you found me, you found me..

And you held me, and I knew of warmth,
of a face other than my reflection,
of dreams I thought were just my own,
you showed me I was not alone.

Yet half-alive, we go about today,
flying with our broken wings
over an endless sea of despair,
no one ever said that love is fair.
