Half remained life
And half remained death;
Half remained the world to see,
And half remained its wreath.
Half clean now is the environ
And so is human heart;
Half remained is family ties,
And its love mart.
Half has dropped love and kindess
And human compassion;
Half has faded the flavor of
All our social relations.
Half is the journey now
With half hope and despair;
Half sunk are the towers of dream
In the lone houses of desire.
Half have I trodden the path
And half remained in the jungle;
Glooming under the half sunset
Untying the past's bundle.
Half have I trodden the path
Halving the halves to halves;
The greats have written and have sung
Everything away shall pass.
