‘halloween And The Crocodile'

'Halloween and the Crocodile'
by Trevor Valentine (2017)

Ever heard of kids who wouldn't get out of bed in the morning and are late for school because they were absolutely certain there was a crocodile under their bed? Never happened to me, luckily... 🤥

Day and night
A terrible fright
And not a sight
Of a scare
Or nightmare
For under the sheets
The child retreats
Cocooned
Marooned
While under the bed
Impending dread
The croc awaits
For tempting bait
Of a child's feet
It's only meat
To him you see
And then the knee
A pleasant sip
Of a quivering hip
He finds it yummy
And then the tummy
Is bitten in two
What a to-do
Nothing is best
As a non-hairy chest
He moves onto the neck
No need to check
Or stop and pin
Straight onto the chin
The mouth
Is south
Of the nose and eyes
Without surprise
The hair is licked
As the final trick
The croc licks his lips
The child smiles and quips
Hip-hip-horay! !
No school today! ! !
