Halloween (Ii) Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

Halloween (Ii)

...in the vineyards of Edgar Alan Poe...

I
tinker
with my flute
in my tavern
drinking a brew of vampire’s milk with lust.

Taste of venomous blood on my tongue
I carve your name
in my bones
watching
you.
