Poignant, metaphorically beautiful, and touching poem Hannah. Yes, there's nothing worse than abuse, be it physical or emotional, in relationships... Thank you for sharing..
The beauty of sorrow.... embroidary of sadness.... welpenned poetic work....
I agree with the friends' comments below.. But only a point can't accept: the line '' When can I be his abuser and not the abused? '' I think no one has to be an 'abuser'.. but each and every abuser has to be put in jail, simply.. I'm not a believer, thus I cannot hope in a ''divine justice'.. if a 'human' Justice exists, it has to be pursued.. only when/where it doesn't exist, an abused human being can use violence against her/his abuser.. Thanks for sharing and.. Keep on writing, Hanna Cheers
I understand where you are coming from saying that. But what I honestly meant by that was just when someone is being abused you get to a point where you would much rather hurt them then continue to be hurt. I'm not talking about going and physically hurting him. I just mean that's how I felt. My words are not as literal as they sound. Thanks for you feed back.
