Han
I said, always insist:
"Nothing was, is new."
Badly sick, set to die,
See nothing as new,
Even the New Year!
Here, we, all of us
Live as if deaf or dumb,
Blinded by the blinds!
Want to write, to be carved,
On the stone on my top! ! !
Stones live forever,
So, I must, how can I?
Nothing can be new,
Not even New Year,
New birth, or a death!
Handicapped on deathbed,
See freedom fighters,
Bloodbaths by powers,
Greyhounds, and hunters!
Each of these is mentioned,
On the clouds and mountains,
Or are carved in the caves?
Either are visible or hidden,
Or by the meanness tools,
Were bulldozed or erased!
Want to write,
Need to write,
I must write…
Need a torch, a candle,
Need a flint and tinder,
Need the golden, silver.
For Birthday, New Year,
I have had many calls,
All colors, backgrounds,
Grace and Shaopin, Juliet,
To Nagin, Arguedas,
To Lena, Zarina, to Maya,
Four corners of the world,
So, I feel the luckiest.
Arrived with warmest heart,
Opening tongues and minds,
I swam in their eyes,
And dream with the Natives.
I recalled graveyards,
In Kyiv, and Manila,
Dead Germans,
In thousands,
Mass grave, Americans',
And the unknown soldiers,
And the Polin's neighbors,
And Gaza, Khorramshahr…
Can foresee collapsing,
Washington, Kremlin,
Volcanos' Tel Aviv,
Damascus to Nanking,
Like Petra and Acropolis!
I said, always will say:
"Nothing is forever."
Badly sick, set to die,
See nothing as new,
Even the New Year!
Here, we, all of us
Are either deaf or dumb,
Blinded by the blinds!
Want to write, to be carved,
On the stone on my top! ! !
