Happy Birthday Poem by Claude Simpson

Happy Birthday

Today we celebrate
your birthday friend;
With your cheerful looks
it's easy to tell;
With joy going on and on
to the very end.

Your countenance shines so bright
And aging signs are nowhere in sight.

You will get a zit
from eating all the cake.
Too much eating
may be unpleasant though
but a little sweetness is ok
when you take a break.

If I could sing a song for you;
I would do something beautiful and true.

In arranging a song
that's new
I would choose one
filled with melody;
Simple, sweet and
catchy too.

But I wouldn't want to bore you
So a Happy Birthday wish will do.
