Happy Ending? Poem by June FeirCruz

Happy Ending?

I am ecstatic that things are back the way they should be:
I am back in your arms
I thrive in your presence
You thrive in mine.
I feel adored, loved, and most of all: Protected.
We are drawn irrisistibly to each other
Like a paperclip to a magnet
Moth to a flame.
You said it was a miracle that we even met
And that, this is our HAPPY ENDING
To have found each other, to have this....
Having so little time with each other.
Am I supposed to settle for this?
And see it as my cup being half full and not half empty?

Oh that twist in the tail! The love, the contentment, everything as it should be... or is it? Beautifully done June, thank you.

Sometimes happy endings come with conditions. This shows a reuniting of two people, but I kind of get that there is still a hint of mistrust in the reuniting. Two people have the right to be happy together through their whole lives, and even though there is always discontent, that discontent shouldn't have to be because of another someone intruding on the relationship, engagement, or marriage. A 10+++++ and thank you for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara
