He didn't choose you
You chose him.
He didn't stand a chance -you latched on to him.
He was way too young
He was way too innocent
He just wanted to please
Even to the wrong woman.
He didn't know any better
He was so naive
Couldn't you tell:
He is not naive anymore.
He has grown
He has thrived
His taste has changed
His life has changed
He loves me now
He never loved you.
So, get over it.
Be happy for him.

Short lines add punch to this nice piece, beautifully delivered. Thank you June.
La. The wrong woman...I wonder if in her way, she will grieve...for whether we be evil or integrity...we remain to be human...maybe she grieves knowing she was never chosen...the final break of desperation... interesting poem. sounds rather like lyrics...have you tried putting a tune to it?

For sure sis, for sure. When the steam settles get up and walk away. I agree with what you have said here sis, this is a very poignant piece. Love & hugs, Barbara
