Filled a bathtub up with Cherry Cola
Plotted a mailman in from Manitoba
Then tuned a radio on to Liberace
Singing away like Pantomime Banshee
Made a breakfast of Doughnuts for a Ghost
She said "they taste fine but I don't like to mope
I prefer sprinkled not the glaze on the top"
So I made another batch just fill out her gut
Took a telescope out and looked at Mars
In search of a goldmine for chocolate bars
But I got a little loss in the Milky Way
Acquiring a taste for vanilla gamma rays
I made a drum set out of sixteen pillows
Arranging them around in a semi-circle
Got a band of Cowboys from Seattle
We were cheered by Girls in their Nirvana
Then when the day was done I went to bed
Opening the covers where I saw a Mermaid
She was swimming in a pool of ocean haze
Then I joined her beneath the vibrant waves
Happy in the arms of the sea of dreams
Like it, it's nice to read a light hearted poem now and again. A fantastic poem.
