Happy Independence Day India,2020 Poem by Dr John Celes

We're proud belonging to this sacred land;
Our nation India is a unique place;
God made this beauty with His magic wand;
We are God-fearing, peace-loving, a race!

But freedom came with loss of lives and toil;
We thank Mahatma Gandhiji for it;
We love our brothers, sisters and this soil;
The blood of freedom fighters made us fit!

Our country has diversity galore;
More than a billion live in unity;
At times, we fight but love is in heart's core;
Our Bharat Vriksh's a mammoth, growing tree!

Our many rivers integrate our states;
Our soldiers guard its frontiers night and day;
With happiness, we celebrate all dates;
We hate no one or envy others, Aye!

We will not harm a neighbour any time;
But we can fight a war to save our soil;
We'll win a war if dragged in any clime.
Our energy will come from sun or oil!

Our rockets blaze their way in skies and space;
Our people have the best of human brains;
Unscathed, we'll come out of the Covid maze;
God is our strength and gives us timely grains!

Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! Jai Jawan! Jai Kisan!
Happy Independence Day, dear Indians world o'er!
