Happy International Girl's Day Poem by Edouard BIZIMANA

Happy International Girl's Day

Rating: 5.0

Today is your day girls of all ages
But who remember you,
Girls of Chibok rapped and raped?
Who give a damn to the plight of millions of you in Pakistan?
Who pays attention to the hardships you go through
When forced to marry in young age?

How many will be lost in Mediterranean Sea today
While seeking refuge and safety?
How many will sleep under bomb shells today?
How? Why? When? Only questions.
How could humanity go on without you?
Why the world closes eye on your plight?
When will the world give you your deserved place,
Mother of Humanity?
A girl is a treasure to cherish,
A life-giver, a sister, a daughter, a light in darkness.
All blessings are yours now and forever.
Happy girl's day.

Happy to hear that some of the girls of Chibok (Nigeria) were released and returned to their families after so long time of suffering

Beautiful tribute to all girls world over. An insightful depiction of the plight and deplorable condition of girls especially in developing countries, well articulated and elegantly brought forth in good diction with conviction. Thanks for such a wonderful piece on humanity. Remain blessed Edouard. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.
