The old year comes to a grinding halt!
The New Year starts with hype immense;
World celebrations can astound;
The joy of people knows no bounds.
The old year had its pros and cons;
Some hopes and dreams were dashed to ground;
With New Year's expectations high,
The old year can still haunt and hound.
Yet, hope must take the upper hand;
Terrorism must be contained;
The world must turn a secure place;
Preserve the dignity of life.
The lesson all have learnt last year
Is love Almighty and not world;
The love of money can't be prime;
The care of soul is duty first.
