If I am what I am today,
It is because of you;
If I'm treading the righteous way,
You showed me how to do.
Dear teacher, you showed what love is,
And taught me alphabets;
You consoled me and gave me bliss,
And moulded me so well.
From you, I learnt to read and write,
And knew the world around;
From darkness, my life got its light,
Identity I found.
I thank you teacher for your care,
And thank God for this gift;
You are a person very rare,
Who gave me my life's lift.
