Harijan, Harijan,
Karo nei,
Wu log harijan,
Hum log dushra,
Harijan ki manushya nei?
Yaad rakho
Harijano aadmi cchikei.

Hamara trishta paale cche,
Paani piyel dei
Chahe wu harijan ladaki ke haath she hi hauka
Hamar samane je khada cche,
Paani to piyel daayei
Pyaas bujhawek vaaste!

They are the Harijans,
We the other than,
But are the Harijans not men?

I am feeling it thirsty now,
Let me drink water
Maybe it from the hands of that Harijan girl
Standing before me,
Let me drink water
For to quench it thirst!
