Hate Is, But All Love Survives - Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

My heart
is as dark as
night from being
broken into pieces...
like shattered glasses around
a bar fight; not all loves have seen this
I gave up all the reasoning', and work to mend
the broken pieces; below the blade' slice
within this sorely tortured heart
shines my light, fighting...
throughout this dark
I have seen this
brightness
It is my
living’
star’
light
