Have Yourself To Love Poem by Solomon Ayomide

Have Yourself To Love

Rating: 4.0

Walking down the path of seclusion
Grieving my heart to a parched soil
Giving all to chances uncalled for
Never minding what would come across
Just treading in gloom
I sought to end it all.

Then, just right there,
I could feel the wave speaks
Backed with empathy from the wind flutters
Driving wide to my story
Sighing in pity at those trickle of hurt.

Then, just right there,
I could see Him speaking loud
Feeling His whisper in my inner drum
In a hushed atoned tone
'Have yourself to love
Love that which binds you up
Shun not that which illuminates you
Rekindle the love you have for thyself
For you cannot give what you lack
Neither expect that you which you conceal'
And I gained calm.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
