He Is A He Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

He Is A He

He is a he

He told me when he called
- "Soon will go, "

I flew on the wings of his words
-with questions: "and what for? "

In this leap, I can see
-I am child and small
-three, four;
-in and out until nine

Feel at helm of his words
-have single passenger:
- "Hey, let us turn around! "

In softness, rough and tough
-in dear birthplace, we arrive
-mountainous with plains

Our large house, is palace
-we have farms, animals
-they behave different

Child is child
-we are not considered
-our work too seems play,
-we observe as if game,
-can never replace the
-the experts, strong and wise men

As shepherds, we look after the small
As farmer in gardens
-we draw in the dust; make mud farms

Curious, vigilant and smart
-learn from this school

Our life is seasonal
-with seasons comes the rain, as does sun
-different our actions in with one

Spring and summer are most fun
-with fruits and the birds, our baby animals
-in summers go camping
-endless and clear the sky is at nights
-tireless are stars blinking; are countless
-in times parts curdle and seem milk-like
-some of them escape and run away
- "Someone dies, " mother says

Feeding the animals is joy and is lesson
-they are kept together in pen and stable
-dad removes the rams and, the-he-goats
-feeds them well and apart; no female
-they grow strong; fight in times
-and they pee on their sides
-then smell, make faces

By lifting upper lips
-they show teeth

Then, one day
-dad takes the few males
-mixes them with masses of females
-rams go hard after sheep; goats-she-goats
-males select their mates and push forward
-till she-ones allow them
-one female to other, males move on

After weeks daddy checks all the she's
-is happy when finds them pregnant
-becomes sad if female rejected the sperm
- "Is Ghesser! "

Now, caller who called me
-the one whose words changed me
-and took me to village
-is going to fly, meet his wife
-to make her pregnant
-they have been married but for years
-her womb has rejected the sperm

She flew, went abroad, to doctor;
-she is set and ready for "He-goat"
